Cincinnati Jazz musicians continue to be the goodwill ambassador for those in need. Whether in our hometown, or across the miles, our musicians heed the call for help through music, and beyond.
Receiving the art form of music, while providing assistance for those suffering in the wake of a natural disaster, is an absolute blessing. On Sunday, May 16th, the Queen City will have an opportunity to take part in such a blessing.
Ballet Tech Cincinnati hosts Jazz Jam Sessions every third Sunday. This weekend, a VERY SPECIAL CD Release Party for Jazz for Lease will be held at Ballet Tech. The event is co-hosted by Omni Works Music, founded by longtime Cincinnati Saxophonist Bruce Menefield. Admission and a portion of CD sales proceeds will benefit the children of Haiti, through the Matthew:25 Ministries. Jazz for Lease contains the collective efforts of some of the biggest names in Cincinnati Jazz such as Bruce Menefield, Eddie Brookshire, Lavieena Campbell, Prof. N. Michael Goecke, Eugene Goss, Nyeemah, Erwin Stuckey, and more.
Admission is $10.00, $5.00 for performing musicians. The event is open to the public of all ages, and drink/snacks will be available for purchase.
Ballet Tech is located at 6543 Montgomery Rd. in Kennedy Heights. For more information, visit www.ballettechcincinnati.org or call 513.841.2822. For more information on Bruce Menefield and Omni Works, visit www.menefieldonsax.com or call 859.360.4951.

You have failed to mention any of the 11 different bands that play at the Blue Wisp Jazz Club every single week of the year, including one of the world's best known saxophonists, Dave Liebman on May 22, 2010.
Most clubs you list have jazz 1 day a week. The Wisp has Live jazz seven days a week yet has been completely omitted from your calendar.
If you are truly a non-biased source for jazz info in this area how could you possibly omit the calendar of the premier jazz club.
I will be looking for your answer online. I can only assume it is an oversight due to your busy schedule and not intentional. Ed Felson
