Hamilton County Parks Presents: January Jazz Brunches

There’s a lot of natural beauty that comes with living in a city that has changing seasons (I for one am partial to the Fall). There’s also a lot of frustration that comes with it. In this particular instance, I’m referring to the winter.

A period of time exists between the start of the New Year and the end of February that I like to call “Holiday Hangover”. The tree, with all its decorations, is put away. Once-new presents are starting to lose their luster. Overcast days with frigid temperatures persist stronger than the end of last year. Most people have taken off during the holidays, and just returning back to work. And let’s not forget the forth-coming credit card statements from all that holiday shopping!

But don’t fret - here is good news that will get us through the January cold and gloom. A series of Jazz Brunches will be presented by the Hamilton County Park District every Sunday through March 20th. In fact, the first brunch has already taken place last Sunday (Jan. 9th). Two park venues will host the brunches, with Jazz music courtesy of the Chris Comer Trio:

Sharon Woods
Stonewood Banquet Center
11555 Swing Rd. Sharonville
- Jan. 9th
- Jan. 23rd
- Feb. 13th
- Feb. 27th
- March 13th

Woodland Mound
Sweetwine Banquet Center
600 Nordyke Rd. Anderson Twp.
- Jan. 16th
- Jan. 30th
- Feb. 20th
- March 6th
- March 20th

For each Sunday, there are 3 available seating times: 10:00am, 11:00am, and 12:30pm. Brunches are $13.95 ($6.95 for children ages 2-12), and features more than 25 items, including an omelet bar, fresh salads, pastries, desserts, a carving station and various beverages. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are preferred. They can be made at www.greatparks.org or by calling Sharon Woods (513.769.0624) or Woodland Mound (513.474.3008). Please remember that a Hamilton County Parks motor vehicle permit is required to enter. They are $3 for a daily pass, $10 annually. Visit one of these parks for a little “thawing out time” with good food and jazz!
