Dave Liebman: The multi-faceted Jazz Musician

One of the most appealing charasteristics of jazz is the "multi-dimensions" of its musicians. The DNA of a jazz musician extends beyond the performance. Their creativity is not only used for things like writing, arranging, and improvising, but also applied to conceive ideas for developing organizations to educate and foster humanity.

This is part of the musician's "total package"; any true lover of jazz understands that it's the combined facets of a musician, and not just the stage performance, that makes them who they are.

On Saturday, May 22nd, the Queen City will have an opportunity to witness such an artist.

Saxophonist Dave Liebman is one of the world's most prolific and visionary ambassadors to the music. His 40+ year career has seen him as a Musician, Author, Educator, a multiple Grammy Award nominee, and more. He was the founder of the International Associations of Schools of Jazz, as well as an inductee into the International Association of Jazz Educators Hall of Fame. He's performed with icons Miles Davis, Chick Corea, McCoy Tyner, and many more.

The pairing of the premier artist in Dave Liebman with Cincinnati's premier venue in The Blue Wisp is one of virtuosity. The show starts at 8:30pm on Saturday May 22nd at The Blue Wisp, 318 East 8th St., downtown (513.241.WISP). Admission is $15.00, and performing with Dave will be Phil DeGreg and Rick VanMatre.
